Beniamino Tatarini

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Mr. BenArt, Allana, Max and I surprised Mr. Ben Tatar for his incredible 80th birthday…What a pleasure it was to spend the afternoon and evening with one of the most gifted actors I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with. We wrapped up the evening with the SAG awards and enjoying some of Allana’s delicious homemade peanut butter fudge…

The framed poster for the film: “Murder in a Blue World” (aka: Clockwork Terror)…now adorns Ben’s walls. It was a film Ben directed the English version for at his dubbing studio (Ameropa Studios), in Madrid. Ben also portrayed the voice of Chris Mitchum’s character. A terrific gift to Mr. Ben from Art. Oddly enough, I just now realized the irony of my gift to Ben…a watch…his broke this week, he’d bought it in 1962! (It was a wind up watch.) Not only had he worn the original while dubbing the film, but one of the titles of the film is “Clockwork Terror”…the irony…

It’s time to announce our involvement in yet another film, Anthony Matthew’s edgy directorial debut…Michael Todd Schneider has been cast alongside the incredible talent of Lissa Brennan and Douglas Bell. Both seen in the trailers below…Douglas made an appearance in the 80’s zombie fest The Video Dead, a sweet bit of nostalgia for you! Stephen Gonsavles also appears in the film, in a role that’ll make heads turn….Toe Tag’s very own Jerami Cruise is meating up the special makeup FX…so you know it’ll be colorful. Other key folks involved are the incredibly talented: Bryan Truex, Vinny Rizzutto, David Dalessandro (the eye behind the camera), Aziza and Mike Pacinda…

Slew Hampshire…

Slew Hampshire

For Immediate Release – magGot Films is violently ill with delight to officially announce our involvement with “Slew Hampshire” – the latest abhorrent creation from the mind of writer/director Flood Reed.  We’ve been in negotiations for weeks concerning this project, and finally – before the ink even dries on the contracts – this news is seeping from our no-longer tightly-sealed lips.  We’re here to let the horror underground know – “Slew Hampshire” is a game-changer.  It will be a serious force in our community, and magGot Films can’t wait to get our grimy paws – and leave our filthy fingerprints – all over it!

The feature film – a longtime-in-the-making collaboration between magGot Films and Reed – is slated for principal photography in May 2010, with a budget in the $150K range.  Principal roles have been cast, key creative and technical crew members have signed on, and locations are being secured.  magGot Films has been commissioned to provide consultation services throughout the next 4 months of preproduction, will be working closely with Reed’s production company (Gluefactory Features) in matters pertaining to Makeup/FX, and will be heavily involved in the post-production process.  And rumor has it, the film may even feature an appearance by mikey magGot, himself . . . be on the lookout . . .

magGot Films has seen the script, and has intimate knowledge of the resources being tapped in order to bring this project together . . . and rest assured, “Slew Hampshire” is going to make eardrum-piercing noise and put a lot of presently unknown talents on the map.  What “Slew Hampshire” offers the horror market far exceeds expectations for your average blood-and-guts slasher, supernatural thriller, monster movie or campy teen horror flick.  In fact, “Slew Hampshire” combines the best of these formulas into a genre-blending, mind-bending story that honors the greatest horror traditions, while challenging and shattering some of its most conventional elements.  Both hardcore and casual horror fans, alike, are going to be very, very impressed (and disturbed) . . . Stay tuned for much, much more to come . . .
