It’s A Far Cry From Jersey

On set of A Far Cry From HomeWe’re back from Alan Rowe Kelly’s shoot for his episode of Hung By a Thread, titled: A Far Cry From Home. I have nothing but great things to say about the shoot. Even with a horde of rain hitting us in the middle of the woods, we managed to complete the tight schedule. Hell, it added alot of unplanned intensity to the crucifiction sequence.
Everyone was great to work with, I hope to work with everyone on whatever capacity in the future. Everything was top notch, I couldn’t imagine a more professional shoot. Jerry Murdock, Benzy, Katherine O’Sullivan and Terry West all did a hell of a job torturing Don Money and Alan Rowe Kelly. I should mention that Don was meant for this film and he was cast just days before filming went up due to another actors last minute departure.

We had a great time shooting the opening for …And Then I Helped. Bart Mastronardi was dead on behind the camera. The Hung By a Thread store was perfect and very creepy.

Jerry Murdocks blood remainsNikki McIntyre, Max Almeida, Benzy and myself had a real great time creating some pretty darned gruesome effects work. I’m particularly proud of the last effect of the film, it combines cinematography and effects but I’ll restrain from ruining what happens. It’s generally scarey doing effects for a film because you are worried about how they’ll be edited. Editing can ruin an accomplished effect, a powerful actor or anything for that matter. Luckily Alan has a great editor on hand and we can look forward to the final product, in the hands of Stolis Hadjicharalambous. He edited Alan’s last film, The Bloodshed with enormous success.

Sandra and George Schaller were also great people and were enthusiastic of the crew rampaging in their woods. Sandra’s art direction is something to be seen, showcased to no end in Alan’s first two features I’ll Bury You Tomorrow and The Bloodshed. George snapped some great pics on set too, including this pic of Nikki with a mangled head and Jerry Murdocks bloody noggin. Photographer Robert Norman was on set for the first few days of shooting, he shot the pic below of Nikki McIntyre and Katherine O’Sullivan rehearsing. See some more of his pics at: hungbythread.com

Thanks again to everyone involved. We had a wonderful time and even ate some incredibly tasty food to boot.

maggot on location The time has come to unveil ourselves once again… This marks the beginning of an onslaught of news to keep all outsiders up to date.

Currently, we’re prepping fx for a jaunt to Jersey. The third episode of Hung By a Thread directed by Alan Rowe Kelly, titled: A Far Cry From Home. It’s pretty disturbing, I wouldn’t expect anything less from Kelly….

Benzy, Nikki McIntyre, Max Almeida and myself will do up the gore real fancy like. I’ve been looking forward to working on a Kelly film since I saw his first feature, I’ll Bury You Tomorrow. I was alone in the theatre and found myself grinning ear to ear through the entire two hours. It’s going to be a real pleasure throwin the red goods around.

So here’s to a hell of a time…
